Since Independence, Africa has been seen as one of the most underdeveloped continent in the world with over 400 million africans living in abject poverty. what is most saddening is the fact that she possesses abundant mineral resources which instead of being a blessing to her, has seemed more like a curse; causing endless crisis and uprisings that has led to the death, displacement and Impoverishment of many. This sad reality is what inspired the track "Africa wake up" by Gr8 Dave.
